Two Museums - One Price

We strive to preserve and display the rich history and culture of Northeast Texas. You can literally take a walk through time in actual structures where much of that history began.

The City of Pittsburg acquired the Depot from the Southern Pacific Railroad in 1988 to save it from demolition and to convert it into a top-notch museum. Local volunteers worked tirelessly to create a place where you and your family can learn more about Northeast Texas history and culture.

Since then, we have worked diligently to provide an enriching experience for our visitors.

We offer self-guided and guided tours, facility rentals, and opportunities to partner with our nonprofit.

The Depot houses a fascinating array of antiques and artifacts, including an archeology exhibit featuring everything from the Caddo Indians to a 1909 Studebaker Surrey and the Ezekiel Airship.

We are proud of our the rich heritage and history of Northeast Texas and enjoy the opportunity to share it with you. Tell your friends and come again.

We periodically rotate an exhibit area of the Depot Museum to provide a fresh experience of the history of our area.

Please consider joining our museum as a supporting member. Anyone can join and there are various price packages to accommodate any budget.

Even with volunteers and trustees donating their time and labor, it costs a lot to operate museums like ours.  We rely totally on memberships, donations, endowments and admission fees.

Details can be found in the Depot Museum gift shop or by clicking here to start your partnership.
